Point6 Merino Wool Performance Socks

Point6 - Superior Merino Wool Socks: Socks for a Lifetime of Adventure

Point6 is a company based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which makes all its socks in the United States. It named itself after 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, our optimal body temperature, because the main material it uses, fine Merino sheep wool (which isn't itchy like other types of wool), has the ability to help thermo-regulate us when we wear them by repelling external moisture and absorbing and dispelling the moisture we produce in sweat when we overheat.

Point6 uses state of the art knitting techniques featuring compact spun merino wool yarn (because compact spinning greatly reduces the amount of loose fibers for a more durable product without excessive wear or pilling), and it reinforces the heel and toe areas with nylon for maximum durability, and incorporates ventilation panels across the instep for more breathability, and includes some spandex to ensure the best fit.

100% Lifetime Guarantee:

Point6 socks are guaranteed for life! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase because of manufacture's defects or wear and tear issues, you can return them and your receipt (a copy of the receipt) to your point of purchase for either an exchange or a refund. (Shipping costs are not included in the guarantee, however.)

Cushioning Levels

In addition to the actual composition of their materials and the myriad of engineering features to be detailed below, another important factor about these socks is the amount of cushioning built into each one, and where. Point6 has a 6 level scale of cushioning, which is explained immediately below (at this point, the ones being sold here at Aviva only encompass the first four levels, however):

Ultra-Light cushioning: The thinnest option for streamlined performance.

Extra-Light: A thinner layer of cushioning underneath the foot.

Light: Standard weight cushioning underneath the foot for comfort.

Medium: Standard weight cushioning surrounds entire foot and leg of the sock.

Heavy: Heavier cushioning surrounds entire foot and leg of the sock.

Extra Heavy: Their thickest cushioning option, surrounds entire foot and leg of the sock.

Engineered Fit Features

Although they are not obvious to look at them, there are a number of design features which go into these socks to provide an excellent fit: at least 10 of them, as illustrated here:
