Green Food Supplements (Individual)


Supplementation with vitamins and minerals is good and often necessary, but even better than this is to get these nutrients from natural sources. And while these are of course best gained through fresh produce, the fact is that many of us don't have as regular access as we need to fruits and vegetables, whether because of the quick prep time imposed by time constraints and business; expense and distance from source; or simple difficulty finding ways to incorporate them into our diets.

In such cases, supplementation with green food products can be indispensable for getting the nutrients your body needs, particularly when you choose green products derived from fruits and vegetables known for their vitamin and mineral content and antioxidant benefits. The individual types of green food supplements include grain grasses such as wheatgrass and barleygrass; sea products such as spirulina, phytoplankton, kelp, and chlorella; tree produce such as beobab and moringa; and even vegetables we might not initially associate with supplementation, such as beets. You can use them individually, usually just by mixing with water, or you can use them in combination, added to your morning smoothie.
