The Breville Crystal Clear Kettle can boil up to 57 oz / 7 Cups (1.7 Litres) at once, quite rapidly, thanks to its larger than normal 1800 Watt concealed element built into the base.
The jug, which lifts off that 360 degree swivel base to fill or pour, is made of impact-resistant transparent German SCHOTT glass, which not only enables you to easily see the water level and its progress as it boils, but also how much scale might be building up from your water supply, and it is easy to clean.
This carafe or jug has a large ergonomic handle with a button to release the lid, which is designed to open slowly to prevent being scalded by steam or from splashbacks from water drops from it. Also includes an easily washed removable mesh filter at the spout to remove mineral scale from the water as you pour.
The base has an illuminated On/Off switch; Auto Shut-Off (when it boils) and Boil Dry Protection (if activated without enough water in it) safety features; and a retractable cord which tucks into it for the desired length, or all the way if not in use.
