The Caslano features a 'Cirrus' sole, which subsequently became the 'Tropo.' These soles purposely have less of an air-cushion effect than the previous types of kybun soles, and are also more stable, to enable doing a greater range of activities in them (including running or playing some sports). As such, the Caslano may appeal to those who already have a pair of wide-soled kybun work, business, or dress shoes to address long-standing pain or mobility issues might want these, as well, to engage in more active pursuits like dancing, pickle ball, or a little light jogging, since the Cirrus sole is more stable and the mesh in the uppers provide good ventilation.
They're also ideal for those who are just beginning to experience aching feet or heavy, tired legs when you go on long walks or you're on your feet all day who could thus benefit from an air-cushion sole... but want one with a slimmer, more conventional appearance and little or no 'breaking in' period to get accustomed to wearing them.
Both types of these Caslanos have a zipper on their outer side, which isn't only decorative, but is also functional: when it's unzipped, it's easier to wriggle your foot in or out, without having to adjust the laces as much (or possibly at all, particularly to take them off).

For this particular model, some major retailers in other countries advise that it "Runs True" to your usual U.S. size if you have wide feet, but if you have narrow feet, you should select a half-size (U.S.) smaller than you customarily get.
