As a supplement, ALA can help maintain healthy glucose levels and improve insulin sensitivity, and so is used by people with diabetes mellitus, peripheral neuropathy, and/or metabolic syndrome to decrease fasting glucose levels and help with conditions like diabetic polyneuropathy.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid was originally classified as a vitamin, with a metabolic function which works with B-vitamins to help provide energy to cells. But then it was discovered to be a versatile metabolic antioxidant that's soluble in both water and fat, which enables it to work throughout the body, even inside cells.
Not only is it a potent free radical quencher in its own right, with numerous studies indicating it may be able to help slow the progress of a number of conditions, but it can also help 'recharge' other antioxidants like glutathione and vitamins C and E when they get oxidized.

Each capsule contains: 250 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid
Other Ingredients: Rice Flour, Veg. capsule (hypromellose, water), Silica, Magnesium stearate (vegetable source).
The ALA in this product is a mixture of both the biologically active (R)-isomer and the (S)-isomer.
Suggested Usage:
Take 1 capsule daily, 2 to 3 times daily, with meals. Store in a cool, dry place.
