Product Notes:

Green tea has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for a myriad of purposes (including to stimulate the heart, mind, nervous system, and digestion), and in India to treat fungal infections.

There are many phytonutrients in green tea, including Polyphenols and Catechins, which provide potent antioxidant benefits. One Catechin in particular, EGCg (or epigallo-catechin-3-gallate, which this product is named for, since it makes up half the content of the caffeinated part), has demonstrated extraordinary free radical quenching power in laboratory studies.

In recent years, EGCg has received major attention due to its numerous health benefits for conditions including neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, and inflammatory diseases.

Lab studies have demonstrated EGCg has strong antioxidant activity and an ability to interfere with pathways associated with pathological conditions where inflammation is the major factor. It's also been shown to be able to help support healthy cell cycle regulation, in some non-clinical studies, and to be potentially beneficial in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis by inhibiting inflammatory protein gene expression in cartilage. Green tea or its extracts may also be a useful addition to a weight management program.
