The active ingredient in Horny Goat Weed is icariin, which inhibits the enzymatic action of phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE-5) in the body. PDE-5 interferes with nitric oxide and guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) which results in the tightening of the arteries and the inability to create an erection; icariin counteracts that, to help stimulate blood flow and restore a healthy sex drive in men.
Horny Goat Weed has also been used in TCM to relieve pain in joints, lower back and knees, improve immune and endocrine systems, support cardiovascular health, as well as reduce the risk of osteoporosis in women.
Ingredients:
Per 5 ml teaspoon:
Horny Goat Weed Leaf (Yin Yang Huo / Epimedium brevicornum): 5 g
Non-medicinal ingredients: Ethanol, Purified water.
Contains no dairy, yeast, wheat or gluten.
Suggested Usage:
Adults: Take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) per day. May be taken with or without food. Shake well before use. Refrigeration not necessary. Store liquid protected from light.
Warnings:
Do not use Omega Alpha Horny Goat Weed tincture if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contraindicated in individuals with fire from yin deficiency. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of dizziness, vomiting, nausea, nosebleed, dry mouth, and abdominal distention. Do not use if security seal is broken.
