Product Notes:

BLIS Probiotics Ears&Throat Kids powder with BLIS K12.

"BLIS K12" is an extensively researched type of probiotic that's naturally present healthy people's mouths which has proven to be quite effective in warding off the harmful bacteria that can cause a range of problems in the ears, nose, and throat when taken as an oral supplement. It was discovered about 20 years ago and perfected in New Zealand to be a means of treating strep throat, and has been licensed to several different companies around the world since, but BLIS Probiotics is the originating company, which is now licensed to release it here in Canada.

The BLIS K12 strain is also featured in other BLIS Probiotics formulas including Ears & Throat and Fresh Breath. The powder is great for those (kids in particular) who might not get the full benefits from a BLIS K12 lozenge or gum (which may be a choking hazard, for some, and which need to stay in the mouth longer to work).

Health Canada Natural Product Number: 80104825.

Ingredients:

Medicinal Ingredient - Each dose (please use the enclosed dosing spoon to dispense the correct quantity) contains:

Streptococcus salivarius K12: 1 billion CFU (Colony Forming Units)

Non-medicinal ingredients: Isomalt, maltodextrin, natural flavour.

This product does not contain wheat, gluten, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, fish or shellfish. May contain trace amounts of milk protein from the fermentation process.

Suggested Usage:

Designed for Children 3 to 5 years, or for anyone who cannot safely suck on a lozenge (or who would prefer not to).

For general oral/throat health, take 1 to 2 doses per day, using the enclosed measuring spoon. For prevention of sore throat due to infection or otitis media, take 2 doses per day for 90 days.

To be effective, the powder should be dissolved slowly directly on the tongue, rather than immediately swallowing it. Do not mix it with hot food or with drinks.

It may be sprinkled onto cool temperature foods (such as a breakfast cereal or a jello dessert) if need be, for those might not take well to having it sprinkled on the tongue.

Unlike many types of probiotics, this type is a shelf-stable formula which does not need to be refrigerated.
