This Classic 405 model air purifier from Blueair is geared to mid-sized rooms up to 430 square feet (40 m2) such as a living or recreation room or a large bedroom in a typical house. It adds two refinements to earlier editions of Blueair's mid-sized models: it's Wi-Fi enabled, so you can use your own smart phone (with Blueair's free app) as a remote control for it (including from afar); and the touch buttons on the control panel have easy-to-read LED icons showing the status of that Wi-Fi connection, plus show the unit's operating speed and indicate if the filter requires changing.
The Blueair Classic 405 uses the best of electrostatic and mechanical filtration, to draw polluted air through an encapsulated particle-charging chamber to increase the likelihood of all the particles being trapped as the air passes through the advanced filter media composed of three layers of progressively smaller fibres, to be delivered pure and clean out the other side.
The 405 includes the standard 400 series HEPA particle filter which removes dust, PM2.5, pollen, particles, pet dander, and mold.
Optional Additional Gas & Odor Removal
Depending on your environment and desired application, you may also want to consider using Blueair's 400 series DualProtection Filter (sold separately). The 405 supports this filter to remove smoke, VOC, dust mites, bacteria, chemicals, and cooking odors in addition to its HEPASilent particle removal (Dual Protection).
