Product Notes:
OVERVIEW
These latest additions to Blueair's lineup share their sibling's fundamental mode of HEPASilent operation, which combines electrostatic filtration (emitting a negative charge to make the incoming particles adhere better to the filters) and mechanical filtration, in pleated filters which can be far less dense than standard HEPA filters, which enables them to operate much quieter and with greater energy efficiency AND more air exchanges per hour, while still removing particles down to just 0.1 micron in size and capturing 99% of germs.
But they also remove far more dust than ever before, using a pair of permanent prefilter trays (which look much like the lint screens on commercial dryers) that are positively charged to make the dust floating in the air be attracted to them like, well, magnets. They screens pull out just like kitchen or bathroom cabinet drawers, and easily cleaned by wiping with a dust cloth or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment.
And rest assured, the Dust Magnets do all that without omitting appreciable amounts of ozone. (The machines have been Verified Zero Ozone by Intertek Sustainability, as meeting the UL 2988 standard and not emitting more than 0.0005 PPM as tested.)

MODEL OPTIONS
Blueair's DustMagnet Air Purifiers come in two sizes, in either a standard white finish or a more premium version which adds a grey speaker-cloth style fabric on the front and grey faux leather matting on the top and back.
There are a total of four options to choose from:
- Two classes of room size capacities: the 5200 series, for small rooms such as a secondary bedroom, a dining room, or a small office up to 212 sq. ft.; and the 5400 series, for areas as large as 356 sq. ft., which would be more suitable for a master bedroom or a small living room or family area.
- Two case style options, to suit different decors or people's own aesthetic preferences: an all-white option (except for the legs, which are grey) for the two 10i models; and the Premium Finish option for the two model 40i's, which have a light grey fabric on the front which may blend in with the furniture or drapes better, and a "vegan leather" covering on both the top 'table' surface of the unit, and on the entire back panel (which is where the two sets of filters and pre-filters slide in, like drawers). The tabletop platform can safely bear up to 5 kilos in weight.
OTHER FEATURES

Other than that, all four machines have all the same other advanced features. E.g., they all incorporate an air quality sensor and indicator light which glows one of five colors, to show the range for the highest reading currently found in the surrounding air among the three main different sizes of particles [PM1, PM2.5 and PM10] the machines monitor. (It is shown glowing light blue in the photo below, in the middle of the front of the unit, just under the top's central leg.)
They are also all Wi-Fi enabled, to be able to work with the (free) Blueair app, which can be installed on a smartphone or tablet or on Alexa or a Google Assistant enabled device, which can be used to activate the air purifier remotely, or to put in on a timer, or to gear itself up in response to new weather conditions (in those regions which have real-time air quality monitoring and reporting systems) or just before your anticipated arrival back home.
Similarly, they all have three main speed levels, which can either be set manually with just the touch of a button on the top panel, or fine-tuned to one-tenth increments, using the app; as well as a Night mode (which dims the indicator lights and operated the fan on low speed); and an Automatic mode, which can perform those speed adjustments for you.
Plus, they all monitor the amount of filter life remaining for the main filters, and let you know both with the main indicator light and on the app (if you have installed that and enabled the Wi-Fi function) when it is time to replace them.
Finally, another nice feature is the Autostart feature: if the unit loses power for some reason (whether due to an outage or if it was on a power switch timer or it gets accidentally unplugged), it will automatically restore itself to its previous fan speed level as soon as it gets plugged back in or the power gets restored.

Suggested Usage:
This DustMagnet Tutorial video (which features a -40i model with the Premium case) runs through the basic operational and setup procedures, such as not placing it too close to a wall, how to turn it on, and how to replace the filter.
For further information on those ComboFilters and how to change them every six to 12 months, please see the DustMagnet ComboFilter.
One important note is that the filters are still wrapped in plastic when the DustMagnet units ship, so you need to pop open the door and take them out and peel the plastic off prior to using it for the first time (that procedure is illustrated in this final video, beginning at the 40 second mark).
