Info: 60 Veg. Capsules

Host Defense uses the activated, freeze-dried, Certified Organic mycelium of these mushrooms -- the actual roots or tails of the Turkey Tails, as it were -- which provide a full spectrum of healthful constituents: polysaccharides (arabinoxylan, beta glucans, fucose, galactose, glucose, mannose, and xylose), glycoproteins, ergosterols, triterpenoids and other myco-nutrients, which are essential for supporting natural immunity and the natural microbiome.

Product Notes:

It has been discovered that Turkey Tail also functions as a prebiotic, to help nourish the beneficial bacteria in our intestines, aiding digestion and boosting immune function through better absorption of nutrients.

As perhaps the most prevalent fungus found in woodlands throughout the world, Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor, which is also called "Yun Zhi" in China and or "Kawaratake" in Japan) mushrooms are an excellent source of cellular nutrients and have been widely researched. They show great promise in supporting the immune system with their protein-bound and unique polysaccharides, especially for people with certain types of cancer (including breast cancer, gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer),* and it also appears to be able to assist chemotherapy in arresting tumor growth.

In a recent clinical study of Turkey Tail funded by the National Institutes of Health, it was Host Defense's product which was selected to be the most fitting exemplar of this type, and it was shown to be immunologically active.
