Info: 1 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer - Coming Soon

This infrared thermometer with a backlit digital LCD display can provide accurate readings of a person's body temperature and sound an alarm if they are in the fever range without needing to make contact, just by pointing it at the forehead or ears. It can also be used to quickly measure the temperature of objects in a room.

Product Notes:

If you'd like to know if someone else is running a fever, the usual methods are either to simply touch their forehead, or to use an oral thermometer to take their temperature. But those both have serious drawbacks, including their precision, the amount of cooperation from the other party required, and especially the risk of spreading infection when touching them with your hand or when the thermometer gets reused on someone else.

A non-contact Infrared Thermometer is a much safer alternative. To use it, simply aim it slightly away from the centre of either the subject's forehead or their ear, press the button, and voila: it takes and displays a reading, accurate to within +/-0.2 to 0.3°C at the normal range for forehead readings.

This compact device operates on a two AAA batteries (which are readily available, but are not included, due to shipping considerations) which fit into the handle.

Measurement Range and Accuracy:

This is not a general purpose device with a large range: it is designed primary to measure people, and objects in a fairly tight range (between +32 and +42.5°C). It's intended to be operated where the ambient temperature is at least +10°C. When measuring foreheads at the appropriate distance of 3 to 5 cm away, it is accurate to  ±0.2°C when measuring one between 35 and 42°C (the 'normal' optimal body temperature has traditionally been considered to be 37°C, or 98.6°F), and to ±0.3°C when measuring one either lower (32-34.9°C) or higher (42.1-42.5°C) than that. This IR Thermometer is not intended for use as a medical device.

Suggested Usage:

To take a person's temperature, after loading the batteries, simply aim the tip of device at the centre of the subject's forehead or ear, holding it about 3 to 5 cm (between about 1-1/4 and 2 inches) away; press the 'Scan' button to turn it on; then press the 'Mode' button to cycle between and select whether you want a reading for a forehead, an ear, or an object; then press the 'Scan' button again to take the reading, which takes 6 seconds (it will make a slight buzzing sound when it is done).

Detailed instructions are included in the product manual for how to customize or mute the alarm function and make other adjustments.
