It's fun. It's LOUD. It's Active. It Totally ROX! LavaRox Oral-Biotic from AOR: A fun-loving probiotic designed not only to promote fresh breath but also to support the health of your child's ear, nose, and throat, while helping to reduce their chances of developing infections.

Product Notes:

This new product features an oral probiotic known as BLIS K12 (technically Streptococcus salivarius K12). This is actually a naturally occurring microorganism, and clinical studies have found it's able to fend off the types of bacteria that can either cause bad breath or lead to ear, nose and throat infections or colds or flus.

Probiotics for Kids - Great Delivery Method - Fun to Eat

Although that proprietary active ingredient has been available for some time in other formats - primarily gum and lozenges - those aren't particularly suitable for young children, who are at risk of choking (or simply swallow them before they can take effect). This new type comes in a fizzy, 'Pop Rocks' type granular format which dissolves in the mouth, which is a great delivery method for kids (or even fun-loving or nostalgic adults) -- making them suitable for children as young as three years old.

The way LavaRox Oral-Biotics works is to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the mouth, which then helps prevent the growth of the harmful bacteria such as the ones that can cause bad breath or gum disease, or upper respiratory tract infections.

More formally speaking, it promotes oral health through recolonizing the oral cavity with beneficial bacteria, especially after a course of antibiotic treatment or a session of oral antimicrobial rinsing, which could leave the area vulnerable to getting repopulated by harmful bacteria once the antibiotic treatment is over.

For example, Lava Rox Oral-Biotics can help reduce occurrences of "streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis" (sore throats caused by pathogenic variants in the Streptococcus pyogenic genus). And after a session of oral antimicrobial rinsing, following up with Oral-Biotics will help reduce volatile sulphur compound levels (halitosis).

LavaRox™ (pronounced as 'Lava Rocks') is vegetarian, gluten-free, and sugar-free. This product is sweetened with isomalt and xylitol -- two naturally-sourced, teeth-friendly sweeteners which don’t spike blood sugar levels. With no artificial flavors, colours or chemicals, they come in boxes of 24 easy to open single serving packets.

Related Products: See CulturedCare Probiotic Gum and AOR Breath Biotics. NOW Foods previously offered a similarly named formulation of BLIS K12 lozenges called 'OralBiotic', but that product has been discontinued in Canada.

Suggested Usage:

Dissolve the granules directly on the tongue (so they fizz up).

If the user is on antibiotics, do not take this until at least 24 hours following the last dose of the antibiotics.

For general oral health, children from the ages of 3 to 12 years, or adolescents from 13 to 17, or adults 18 years and up can take one or two packets per day.

To help prevent a sore throat due to infection, children from 3 to 12 years old can take one packet per day for 90 days; while for adults or children 12 years and up can take form one to two packets per day for 90 days.

To reduce bad breath/halitosis following the use of an antimicrobial mouthwash such as chlorhexidine or cetylpyridinium chloride, adults and children older than nine years can take up to four packets a day for a minimum of 14 days; while children from three to nine years old can take one packet a day for a minimum of seven days.
