Info: Battery Operated Quartz Clock with Light & Snooze Feature
When we're travelling, it's important not to leave anything to chance: it could be disastrous if we sleep in and missed an important meeting or connection, or nearly as ruinous if we lost a lot of sleep checking the time every few hours and worrying about it. This smart-looking and smartly-designed item provides a terrific backup to whatever other methods you may rely on.
The Marpac Travel Alarm Clock is super light, and quite compact: a 3 by 2.5 rectangle (with rounded corners) just 3/4 of an inch deep when folded up, that could fit in your pants pocket. The gold-coloured cover which protects the face from scratching during transport easily flips underneath to serve as a sturdy stand. It has a silent quartz movement (there's no ticking sound, even though there is a second hand), with fairly large analogue numbers in green and slightly luminous hour and minute hands. It's powered by a single AAA battery, which are easy to get anywhere. The beeping alarm is ascending -- i.e., gets progressively louder as it builds to a crescendo -- but it can be temporarily deactivated just by squeezing the clock anywhere between its face and back, for a 4 or 5 minute snooze feature, if desired, or as the prelude to switching off the alarm at the back. Squeezing the face also activates a temporary back-light at any time.
Suggested Usage:Great for travelling, and use it at home for a backup alarm, in case of power failures.
