Info: One Brush
This wooden handled Natural Bristle Body Brush by Axel Kraft International is part of their Martina Collection. Dry body brushing using the Natural Bristle Body Brush stimulates circulation for the skin, helping remove toxins from the body, as well as beneficially massaging areas troubled by cellulite, assisting in the break-up of fatty deposits. Use on dry skin only, so as not to damage damp skin.
Dimensions: The brush is about 10 inches long, altogether, not including the 2 inch long hanging rope. The stiff natural animal hair bristles protrude about 1.5 cm from the surface of their plastic retaining plate; there are dozens of clusters of them in an oval shape about 4-1/2 inches long and about 2 inches wide.
In addition, there is currently a Long Handled version of this type of Back Brush from the same Martina Collection available at out Winnipeg store. It also has an Oval- shaped head (which is about 5 inches long and a little over 3 inches wide), which can either be used alone in the palm of your hand (there is a cloth strap on its back to fit over the back of your hand) or be attached to a 12-1/2 inch long handle to make it easier to scrub your back or your lower legs or feet. The handle just slides into a notch on the back of the brush to attach, and has a rope on its other so it can be hung to dry.
Use before showering or bathing -- may be used daily, if desired.
Dry brush your entire body (which takes approximately 2 to 5 minutes): Starting at your feet, brush your skin firmly (using lighter pressure over sensitive areas, or avoiding them altogether), in upward strokes towards the direction of your heart. Move upwards using long, even strokes. Use a circular, clockwise motion on the abdomen and stomach. Raise your arms above your head and start at the wrists, brushing downwards towards your heart.
Avoid using the brush on sensitive areas such as: face, neck, breasts and groin.
