Info: 170 g Jar of Powder
Acerola or Barbados cherry is one of the world's best natural sources of vitamin C. It's been used in traditional medicine for ages, especially in the West Indies, not only for the types of things we now associate with vitamin C -- colds and scurvy, and helping to heal things like gum infections and pressure sores -- but also to prevent or treat blood clots, retinal hemorrhages, or heart disorders, or to help menopause (as a phytoestrogen replacement) or to enhance endurance. Research has found it contains caretonoids and polyphenols, with the latter having antioxidant properties that may be able to help with diabetes mellitus and its complications or be able to help prevent some types of age-related diseases. And because it comes from a whole food, this concentrated form of it will be well absorbed and have very good bioavailability.
