Info: 100 Veg. Capsules (500 mg Each)

L-Carnitine is an amino acid which helps produce cellular energy throughout the body, including the brain, and helps break down the long-chain fatty acids in our diet like the EPA and DHA in Omega 3s. As a constituent of proteins, it can normally be obtained by eating red meat, assuming the digestive system is working properly to break it down and absorb it. Research indicates that Acetyl L-carnitine not only helps produce cellular energy in the mitochondria of brain cells, which can combat 'dullness,' but also functions as an antioxidant, which may help fight the aging process and slow down cognitive declines.

Product Notes:

This supplement offers a form of L-Carnitine which is not only ready to be absorbed right away, but has also undergone "acetylation" first to ensure that the brain can use it (this simply entails adding a harmless acetyl group of atoms [CH3CO] to swap out an active hydrogen atom in each molecule, to enable it to cross the blood-brain barrier more readily and be better recognized by the cells there). It may thus be of interest to several groups of people: active people, who want to support exercise and muscular activity; vegetarians or seniors, who either have reduced intakes of L-Carnitine or an a reduced ability to produce it; and older adults, who want to support healthy brain and cognitive function.
