Product Notes:
With a hint of cheese and a nutty flavour, Nutritional Yeast can enhance the nutrient content of a wide variety of dishes.
The Toasted and Organic varieties, which are a bit paler in colour, are both good sources of folate (which helps form red blood cells) and also provide several other B-vitamins (Thiamin, Riboflavin, B-6, and Pantothenate).
The other two nutritional yeasts (which are no longer available here), which have yellow flakes, also provide Vitamin B12, as well as Vitamin D2, in one type.
Ingredients:
All four contain Nutritional Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as their primary ingredient. That is the sole ingredient in the Toasted and Organic types.
The two Vitamin B12 yeasts provide about 2 mcg of B12 per tablespoon (about 80% of the recommended daily value) and a fair amount of zinc (about one third of the recommended daily value per tbsp), and the B12+D2 type also provides 7 mcg of Vitamin D2, or about one third of the recommended daily value per tablespoon.
Suggested Usage:
Nutritional Yeast can be enjoyed either as a condiment to accent popcorn, salads, or pasta dished, or be incorporated into soups, sauces, or smoothies.
Keep the bags tightly sealed to retain their freshness and guard against humidity, and store them in a cool, dry place away from light and heat.
