Stay sweet while sacrificing sugar content using lucuma powder -- a healthy, natural way to decrease sugar consumption while maintaining intense flavour! Luscious lucuma is a natural, low glycemic index, low sugar sweetener safe for diabetics. With a flavour that can be described as a unique caramel or vanilla/maple (minus the high sugar content), lucuma is the most popular ice cream flavour in Peru! The lucuma fruit provides fibre, iron, carotene and niacin, in addition to its tantalizing flavour and antioxidant immune system boosting benefits. Organic Traditions' certified organic lucuma powder is raw, Kosher, and suitable for vegan and vegetarian use.

Product Notes:

Lucuma is also known as the gold of the Incas, as it has been a cherished part of South American tradition for thousands of years, revered as a symbol of fertility and creation. In addition to its sweet intense flavour, there are antioxidant benefits from consuming lucuma, including immune system boosting. In traditional medicine, the fruit has been used to treat skin and stomach problems, and research has shown it can significantly speed tissue regeneration and wound closure.

Organic Lucuma Powder, made from a proprietary gentle cold milling process to ensure optimal nutrient, enzyme and antioxidant integrity. Certified by EcoCert and USDA Organic. Contains no fillers, excipients, or added flavours or sweeteners.

Suggested Usage:

An excellent, unique tasting alternative to sugar, with a low glycemic index (glycemic load is approximately 7). Lucuma is a perfect addition to raw recipes containing chocolate, complementary in its caramel-rich flavour. Add to homemade ice-cream for a tantalizing "trip for taste-buds" around the world to a truly traditional flavour from Peru. Sweet desserts stimulate the senses with the addition of lucuma in baked or non-baked versions of cakes, pastries, pies etc. (you can combine it with sprouted chia flour to make a flour). Or combine 2 to 5 tablespoons with a teaspoon of concentrated Camu Camu to make a refreshing lemonade.
