Trying to conceive? Up to half of all couples' infertility cases are linked to issues with the man's sperm – usually its total 'count' – and recent studies indicate those counts have been declining in Western countries. The Ovry Male Fertility Test is a good first step for discovering important information. (Conversely, for those NOT wanting to conceive, it can also be used to confirm whether a vasectomy has had the intended result.)

Product Notes:

Sperm Concentration Test Kit

No need to try to book a doctor's appointment and have to book time off work for that and then wait (and possibly pay) for the results of a lab test – this test kit includes everything needed to perform a sperm count test entirely at-home and get the results in just over an hour. It only takes a few minutes to conduct the actual test, but first the sample has to be released into the included collection dish and stay there for an hour before being tested.

When used as directed, this test will detect how much of a certain protein (SP10) that's present in sperm is in the sample, and indicate either a "positive" result if the sperm concentration is in the normal range (of at least 15 million sperm per millilitre), or "negative" if it's lower than that. Its results have been over 99% consistent with laboratory testing for sperm concentration, to date.

The basic procedure is to first ejaculate into the Sample Collection Cup, and let it sit there for at least 1 hour (but no more than 3). Then use the Dropper to place a few drops of the semen into the Collection Tube and mix it in with the solution inside that tube, to ready it for the test.

Then take a few drops out of that new mixture in the Collection Tube and place it onto the circular sample well on the Test Device. After 5 minutes, the Test Device should produce either a positive or a negative result: with two distinct red or pink lines (if it's positive); or just one at the C (control line), if it's negative. (But if there is no line at the C after 5 minutes, that means the test was Invalid / did not work for some reason.)

Please be advised, in order to get accurate results, it is important that you refrain from ejaculating for at least two to as much as seven days before performing this test.

Warnings:

Of course, there are other factors that can impact male fertility besides its relative concentration within the seminal fluid (such as the sperm's motility, morphology, pH and total count, and the volume and liquefaction time of the semen), so this concentration test cannot actually establish definitively whether a man is fertile – but it's a very useful first step for finding if he may not be.

By the same token, a low sperm count certainly does not make it impossible to conceive (just less likely), and the same person can produce different results at different times due to diet or other lifestyle factors, so please do not let a single test alter your reproductive decisions too drastically, and be sure to consult your health practitioner for additional information.
