Info: Choice of a Butter Maker or a Butter Keeper
It's better with butter, as the ad says, but wouldn't you like to have better butter, and wouldn't butter be better if it were easier to spread or if you could leave it out without it spoiling quickly? Tackle both those issues with these two companion devices from the Progressive International's PL8 line (sold separately).
The Fresh Butter Maker enables you to easily churn up a stick of fresh, creamy, homemade butter using heavy whipping cream in just a few minutes, which you can flavour how you like with fresh herbs, spices, or zests.
The Soft Butter Keeper revives a traditional device with modern technology; it consists of a cup with a stainless steel liner (which won't react with the butter and will maintain its natural flavour) which you pack full of either fresh or store bought butter, and turn upside down in its holding container half-filled with water (which you change every few days), and the gasket at the base of the cup makes a seal when its covered. This can keep pure butter perfectly spreadable at room temperature for up to a few weeks, or a few days, for flavoured butter.
About the Fresh Butter Maker:
Produces a stick of butter (about 8 Tbsp or 1/2 cup) with 1-1/3 cups of heavy whipping cream. There is a fill line on one side the vessel to measure that.
You can retain the whey to make fluffy buttermilk biscuits.
Materials: ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene), Beechwood, SAN (Styrene AcryloNitrile) and Silicone. Dishwasher safe. The beechwood dasher/churning stick with a plastic top disassembles for cleaning or storage.
About the Soft Butter Keeper:
Stores one full stick of butter, equal to 8 Tbsp or 1/2 cup (the same yield as the Fresh Butter Maker).
Materials: Plastic for the holder (which has a "fill line" marking for the water, not shown in the angle of this photo) and the exterior of the cup, which has a Stainless Steel lining. Dishwasher safe.
