Info: Set of 2 Floating Non-Stick Egg Poachers
These elegant little floating bowls from enable you to poach your eggs to perfection every time, with no waste and a minimum of clean-up.
Poaching eggs may be the healthiest way to eat them since they are not fried in fats and there is less temptation to add butter or sauces to them, but it can be a bit tricky to do efficiently, if you don't have the right cookware or utensils to get them out intact.
The Fusionbrands PoachPod is made of 18/8 stainless steel covered with a food-safe non-stick ceramic coating developed by Whitford. There are no BPA, PFOA or PTFE materials in these poaching tools, and they can be washed in the dishwasher (use one of their holes to anchor it to a post somewhere on the dishwasher rack to prevent them from flying around).
Bring 1.5" of water to a boil in any type of pan with a lid, and turn it down to a simmer when the pod is ready.
Lightly oil the bottom of a pod with olive oil or your preferred cooking oil, and crack an egg into it.
Place that pod into the simmering water, and cover the pan with its lid.
Let it cook / poach for 3 to 5 minutes (depending on how soft you want the yolk to be).
Remove pod from water; it can be picked up using the green silicone eyelets, which act as insulators, using the thumb and fore- or middle-finger of one hand for two of them, and any finger of the other hand for the third one.
Run a spoon or mini-spatula around the edge of the egg to loosen it from the pod's sides.
Gently flip the pod over your plate or onto your piece of toast to serve.
Do not use them in the microwave (since they are made of metal).
