Alfalfa is a green food with natural chlorophyll content and antioxidant and alkaline-balancing properties, which also provides vitamins, minerals, fibre, and enzymes. Alfalfa has been used in traditional and alternative medicine in various parts of the world for a number of purposes, including increasing urine flow (to help prevent urinary tract infections), fighting cholesterol, reducing inflammation, and promoting breast milk production. Its insoluble fibre also acts as a prebiotic, to help promote the healthy production of friendly gut microbes.
To produce this product, the alfalfa was organically grown, and harvested as tender, young greens. Then the leafy aerial parts were cultured with Lactobacillus plantarum and Saccharomyces boulardii on a molasses matrix, to undergo a relatively slow three to six day natural fermentation process, which is then dehydrated and ground up to produce a highly nutritious, pleasant-tasting green powder with alkalizing properties.
