This is a synergistic combination in a one to one ratio of the two essential minerals Calcium and Magnesium (which play major roles in building and maintaining healthy teeth and bones and helping to regulate many areas such as blood clotting, body temperature, the heartbeat, metabolism, and nerve transmission).

Many Cal/Mag formulations, including one of Trophic's, offer it in a one to two ratio, because there is a complex relationship between how the body uses these two minerals, and there is a risk of becoming deficient in magnesium if you supplement with calcium alone. However, if you consume too much magnesium every day, there can be digestive consequences, including loose stools, more frequent movements, or even diarrhea. People who are more sensitive to those effects, or who are already getting plenty of magnesium in their diet, may thus prefer it in a 1:1 ratio like this.
Trophic produces Chelazome Cal Mag 1:1 with their unique Albion Laboratories' Chelazome process, which chelates the minerals with amino acids, peptides and polypeptides, in order to make them more readily absorbed (the resulting molecules are predigested in a sense, becoming small enough to pass through the intestinal wall so they can be absorbed intact).
