Sometimes we may get plugged up and just need a short-term laxative to get relief from occasional constipation. As its name implies, Laxaherb is a blend of natural herbs (such as Alder Buckthorn, Cascara sagrada, and Chinese rhubarb) which have been used in traditional medicine for cleansing and for stimulating the bowels.

Product Notes:

Wild Rose Laxaherb was formulated by Clinical Herbalist Dr. Terry Willard and is an integral part of his Herbal D-Tox 12-Day Program.

This is a stimulant laxative, which acts directly on the large intestine to promote bowel movement, but should only be used for a short period of time (between 1 to 11 days - with guidance from your healthcare provider). This product is not suitable for long term use, it could potentially become counter-productive or lead to dependency.

Each tablet contains:

Cascara Sagrada bark (Rhamnus purshiana): 200 mg
Alder Buckthorn bark (Rhamnus sp.): 50 mg
Ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale): 75 mg
Red Raspberry leaf (Rubus idaeus): 35 mg
Sweet Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare): 35 mg
Barberry root bark (Berberis vulgaris): 35 mg
Chinese (Turkey) rhubarb root (Rheum sp.): 75 mg
Cayenne fruit (40,000 Heat Units Guaranteed Potency) (Capsicum sp.): 10 mg

Non-medicinal ingredients: Dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, whey powder, acacia gum, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate (vegetable source), stearic acid.

Contains no artificial preservatives, colour, flavoring, sucrose, wheat, soy, corn or yeast.

Suggested Usage:

Adults: Take two tablets with both breakfast and supper (preferably at the beginning of the meal), or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner.

Keep out of reach of children. If overdose or accidental ingestion occurs, call Poison control center immediately.

Do not use Wild Rose Laxaherb if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you are allergic to anethole or plants of the Apiaceae/Carrot family; or if you have bile duct obstruction; or if you have abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, or potential or existing intestinal blockage, atonic bowel, appendicitis, inflammatory colon disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, or abdominal pain of unknown origin; or if you have undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or severe dehydration with depleted water or electrolyte or diarrhoea.

Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are taking thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, licorice root or other medications or health products which may aggravate electrolyte imbalance; or if you are taking other prescription medications; or if you have a kidney disorder or are taking cardiac medications such as cardiac glycosides or antiarrhythmic medications; or if you have a liver or kidney disease, or a gallbladder disorder; or if you have a gastrointestinal tract disorder or have symptoms of intestinal spasms; or if you have faecal impaction or symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever; or if you have stomach ulcers or inflammation.

Reduce dose or discontinue use if you experience abdominal pain, cramps, spasms and/or diarrhoea. Hypersensitivity (e.g. allergy), has been known to occur; in which case, discontinue use.

Prolonged and extended use may cause dependence of the bowel function. Laxaherb should not be used longer than 12 days in a row, unless directed by your healthcare practitioner. Do not take Wild Rose Laxaherb or any laxative within 2 hours of another medicine because the desired effects of the other medicine may be altered.
