Product Notes:

Yogourmet Yogurt Starter + Probiotics

Probiotics may help reduce the effects of lactose intolerance, improve digestion and regularity, and support your immune system.

With billions active bacteria in every 100ml serving of Yogourmet yogurt, you'll be getting all the probiotics you need, and more.

Each box contains three 'rows' of packets, with each row containing two packets, which can be detached individually.

In the original type, each packet weighed 5 grams, because the starter had skim milk powder as its excipient or underlying medium, which is heavier and bulkier than the non-GMO maltodextrin used in the new type, which also comes in a redesigned, smaller box. Both types can produce an identical amount of yogurt (6 litres, altogether).

Ingredients:

New Type: Active bacterial cultures (B. longum, L. rhamnosus, L. casei, L. helveticus, L. bulgaricus, L. acidophilus, S. thermophilus) and maltodextrin. Contains: Milk.

This product is manufactured in a facility that manipulates products containing soy and milk.

(Original Type was: Skim milk powder, ascorbic acid, active bacterial culture (L. casei, B. longum, L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. acidophilus).)

Freeze-dried.

This product is gluten-free, Kosher certified, and Halal certified.

Suggested Usage:

Upon receipt, refrigeration is recommended for the box / unused packets prior to use, to preserve their active bacterial culture. This product has a good tolerance to temperature variance for shipping purposes, but shouldn't be exposed to extreme heat.

Use a whole individual packet of starter per litre or quart of milk. Heat milk to 180F (82C) or bring to boiling point. Cool to 73-77F (23-25C). Dissolve the packet of culture in a small amount of the cooled milk in a cup. Pour back into the litre or quart and mix well. Incubate in your yogurt maker for 9 to 10 hours, or until the yogurt has reached the desired firmness. Refrigerate for about 8 hours to stop the incubation process.

Once it's made, your new homemade yogurt can keep for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
