Product Notes:

Although the powerful health-promoting properties of mushrooms have been prized by ancient and indigenous cultures for thousands of years, they have been surprisingly overlooked by some in more recent times. Harmonic Arts Organic Concentrated Mushroom products offer an easy way to supplement your diet with these powerful concentrated extracts.

Sourcing & Extraction Method

Most of the mushrooms Harmonic Arts uses in these powders are grown in and sustainably hand-harvested from the forests of Siberia and the Greater Khingan mountain range, then processed with a dual extraction method (which is why they were formerly called Dual Extract or Dual Extracted Mushroom Powders).

The chaga and reishi are extracted using a hot water and alcohol solution, and the turkey tail, lion's mane and cordyceps using just hot water. After the medicinal compounds are extracted into their respective liquids, that liquid (the menstrua) is evaporated off, which leaves a very fine, highly concentrated, easy to use water-soluble powder.

5 Mushroom Concentrated Mushroom Powder

For those seeking the same core medicinal mushroom ingredients of their delicious 5 Mushroom Drinking Chocolate in their pure form without the cocoa and coconut flavouring, Harmonic Arts Botanical Dispensary presents the 5 Mushroom Concentrated Mushroom Powder: a synergistic combination of all five of these most well-studied healing mushrooms with immuno-modulating and anti-pathogenic properties offered here.

This blend of five medicinal mushrooms provides antioxidants to help protect cells against the oxidative damage caused by free radicals and fungal polysaccharides with immunomodulating properties. Some of the better known contributions of its individual constituents are as follows:

- Chaga: Boosts the immune system
- Reishi (Lingzhi): Adaptogenic: for stress support, grounding, and vitality
- Cordyceps: Tonifies lungs and kidneys
- Turkey Tail: An immunomodulator also used for digestive imbalances. Used in TCM to fortify the spleen to drain dampness and clear toxic heat.
- Lion's Mane: For immune and nerve support, protective to cells, and helps focus and memory.

Chaga

Sometimes heralded as "The King of Mushrooms," Chaga is reputed to have potent anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immuno-modulating properties. It's been used in traditional folk medicine in northern Europe and Asia to address several areas, including abnormal tissue growth, immune health, and intestinal issues.

Cordyceps

Originally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to help tonify and replenish the lungs and kidneys and to resolve phlegm as well as for as well as for enhancing energy and endurance, Cordyceps are not only a good source of antioxidants that help protect cells from the oxidative damage caused by free radicals but also of fungal polysaccharides with immunomodulating properties. Harmonic Arts also recommends it for stamina and stress support.

Lion's Mane

Known traditionally in Asian culture not only as a health product but as a replacement for meat in vegetarian dishes, Lion's Mane is only now beginning to be recognized worldwide for its remarkable health properties – particularly on account of NGF, or Nerve Growth Factor. NGF is a small protein that stimulates nerve growth and thereby enhances the nervous system.

The problem, however, is that it is difficult for this protein to reach the brain, as it is often filtered out by the blood-brain barrier. Lion's Mane helps resolve this problem. Substances known as hericenones help stimulate the brain to produce more NGF, while erinacines are small enough to penetrate the blood-brain barrier and stimulate nerve growth from within. And it's never been easier to add Lion's Mane to your regular diet, than with a handy jar of powder, like this.

Reishi Mushroom

A staple of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the reishi mushroom is often used to treat a variety of ailments in the body, including immune problems and toxicity, as well as high "bad" cholesterol, high blood pressure, and poor blood circulation; an adaptogen, it can also help the body deal with stress.

Reishi is often recommended for its relaxing and calming effects, and this format makes it simple and easy to use this powerful supplemental mushroom daily.

Turkey Tail

When it comes to medicinal mushrooms, few can boast the backing of science as thoroughly as the one known under the Latin names Coriolus and Trametes versicolor, or as Yun Zhi, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, or turkey tail mushrooms, in colloquial English (due to their shape).

Although there are a number of active agents in this mushroom, two of particular note for medicinal purposes are PSK (polysaccharide-K, also known as krestin) and PSP (polysaccharopeptide).

In addition, the mushroom has demonstrable antioxidant and antibacterial properties, and at least one study has suggested its immunity-boosting potential as a treatment for those with HIV.

Considered alongside this mushroom's traditional use in soups and teas for antimicrobial purposes, Turkey Tail has an impressive record as a supplemental mushroom for maintaining good health.
