Purslane has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to relieve symptoms of piles/hemorrhoids (Arsa) or to improve loss of appetite (Agnimandya).
Considered by some to be a superfood, purslane is also rich in omega-3 and omega-6 linolenic acid fatty acids, vitamin E, riboflavin, and a number of minerals. In addition to boosting the immune system, purslane is also high in melatonin, and may help act as a sleep aid.
In traditional Chinese medicine, purslane/portulaca is called ma chi xian.

Purslane Tincture PLUS (NPN: 80065592), per drop:30 mg Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) (1:5 DHE, 6 mg Dry)
1.5 mcg Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) (1:5 DHE, 0.3 mcg Dry)
Non-medicinal ingredients: Ethanol, Purified water.
Purslane Powder or Capsules (Natural Product Number: 80069395 & 80035237):
Each dose unit contains:
500 mg of Purslane (Portulaca oleracea, Herb).
Non-medicinal ingredient for capsules: Gelatin.
Suggested Usage:
Tincture: Adults: Take 30 drops under the tongue daily. May be taken in the morning or evening with a meal or snack. Take two hours before or after doctor-recommended medications. Consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 3 months.
Powder: Adults: Mix 1/8 teaspoon (250 mg) with 30 ml (1 fl. oz.) water and take daily for 1 month, and then increase to 1/4 tsp. (500 mg) daily.
Capsules: Adults: Take one capsule once or twice a day. Start with 1 a day for the first month, then increase to 2.
Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use Natural Plantation Purslane products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are on Warfarin (a blood-clot medication).
Consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use if taking other medications. If on high blood pressure pills, do NOT take the Purslane Tincture Drops. If back pain occurs, consult a healthcare practitioner.
