Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffusers can be used daily in an office or home, whether as a healthy alternative to synthetic room fresheners or scented candles (scents such as Grapefruit or Listea have been recommended for this), or for specific therapeutic purposes, depending on your choice of oils. Le Comptoir Aroma recommends Ravintsara or Eucalyptus globulus or radiata for improving respiration; or these ones for relaxation: Bitter orange, Sweet orange, Mandarin, and Lavender officinale or Lavandin super.
Lights
In addition to their misting function (which can also be used simply as a humidifier for a small space, if used without oils), these units also have LED lights which shine through either their tops or their case, as well (depending on the model), which can either alternate between the 7 colours (such as blue, green, and red) or be stopped on the colour of your choosing.
Models & Styles
There are six different models to choose from, here, with slightly different looks, capacities, and features, detailed below, but their basic operating procedures are the same. Their exteriors are either made from recycled plastic (with two of those being made to resemble wood) or from recycled bamboo, as indicated.
The final Under the Sea model is their new child diffuser, which combine the benefits of essential oils with a night light function that projects an animate ocean-themed background onto the ceiling to facilitate going to sleep.
There are also some even more moderately priced models available from this company which use cold fan (or evaporative) rather than ultrasonic technology.

Suggested Usage:
Operating Instructions
1. Always keep the unit upright. To remove the cover to add the water and oils, simply lift it straight up.
2. Plug the connector end of the power adapter into the DC-jack input under the base of the diffuser.
3. Add 100 mL of tap water. Do not use hot water, and fill only to the maximum fill line. Do not add water while the unit is switched on.
4. Add 5 to 10 drops of diffusion essential oils to the top of the tank.
5. Place the cover onto the base of the unit. The cover must be in place to operate the diffuser.
6. Connect the diffuser to a power source or outlet before using (either a USB port on a computer, video monitor, or phone charger, for those models equipped only with a USB cable, or to a standard wall outlet, for those equipped with an adapter).
7. Press the button to power the unit on. Some of these models only have the one button, so there may be a sequence of presses or holds to alternate between the times and colours.
Cleaning
Clean the unit after every 5 to 6 occasional uses, or after 3 to 5 days of continuous use, as follows:
1. Unplug it from its power outlet supply, and remove the cover.
2. Pour out any water remaining in the tank - but not from the air outlet side.
3. Using a soft cloth and a mild soap in warm water, gently wipe down the unit. Dry with a clean cloth.
4. To prevent water from entering the air outlet, pour off any excess by tilting the unit to the left, not to the right.
Important: Use a mild soap only. Do not use detergents containing acids or enzymes, as they may damage the unit and create toxic fumes.
Also, periodically check the air intake port to ensure that it does not get clogged with dust, and you may need to remove dust from the ceramic disc once in a while, too.
Warnings:
Keep children and pets away from essential oils. Oil mist can damage wooden and painted surfaces; wipe up any residue quickly and often. For the same reason, you should not operate them close to electronic devices which have open grills for their own ventilation, such as televisions or audio receivers.
Keep these units away from direct sunlight; sources of heat; and strong drafts from air conditioners or fans.
Unplug the units when not in use. Do not place anything on top of a unit while in use. Never move a unit while in operation. And avoid the use of corrosive oils such as citronella or cinnamon, which could damage their reservoir tanks.
To avoid damaging the ultrasonic disc, never touch it, and wait 60 minutes before restarting the unit after a cycle is complete (or if the unit has automatically shut itself off when the water level became too low or to protect the unit from overheating).
