Metagenics UltraFlora Balance is available in capsule form, in a gluten-free, non-dairy base. Helping maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora not only provides daily support for digestive and immune system health to address cold and flu symptoms or GI symptoms such as gas, bloating and abdominal discomfort, but may also help facilitate lactose digestion – which would be of interest to those with mild intolerance to milk or other dairy products.
Metagenics also produces another version of this product for children, featuring exactly the same ingredients, in one-third the dose, in chewable tablets: MetaKids Probiotic.
UltraFlora Balance Ingredients:
Each capsule contains 15 billion CFUs,* consisting of:
7.5 billion CFUs Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07
7.5 billion CFUs Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM Strain
* CFU = Colony Forming Units of total blend at date of expiration.
Non-medicinal ingredients: Cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide.
This product is non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegetarian.
Bi-07™ and NCFM® are trademarks licensed by Dupont. NCFM stands for North Carolina Food Microbiology: the name of the research group at North Carolina State University which first sequenced the complete genome of this strain (which had been widely used for many decades before it was identified in that way).
Suggested Usage:
Adults: Take one capsule 1 to 2 times daily, or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner.

Warnings:
Do not use Metagenics Ultra Flora Balance if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment). Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you have nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea or severe abdominal pain. Discontinue use and consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset (e.g. diarrhea) occur, worsen, or persist beyond 3 days.
