Study Conclusion / Research Summary: SIBO is widely prevalent in a tertiary referral gastroenterology practice. Herbal therapies are at least as effective as Xifaxan/Rifaximin for resolution of SIBO by lactulose breath testing. In addition, patients who are refractory to rifaximin can receive herbal therapy as a potential rescue therapy with equivalent results to triple antibiotics.

Each softgel contains:
183 mg Thyme Essential Oil (Thymus vulgaris)
100 mg Oregano Essential Oil (Origanum vulgare, providing 55 mg carvacrol)
75 mg Sage (Salvia officinalis) (5.5:1 leaf extract, equivalent to 412.5 mg of sage)
50 mg Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) (5:1 leaf extract equivalent to 250 mg of lemon balm)
Non-medicinal ingredients: Rice bran oil, gelatin, glycerin, water, silicon dioxide, annatto extract, and lecithin.
This product is gluten-free.
Suggested Usage:
Adults: Take 1 softgel 2 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.
Warnings:
Do not use Metagenics CandiBactin-AR if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have a seizure disorder. Consumption with alcohol, other medications or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended. Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or involved in activities requiring mental alertness.
