Not only will Pure Anada's Loose Mineral Foundations not clog your pores the way some silicone-based foundations can (to leave you with a healthier, younger-looking complexion), but some of the mineral ingredients themselves also have beneficial properties for your skin, like Titanium Dioxide, which reflects harsh sun rays away; or Zinc Oxide, which soothes irritation; or silica, which blurs fine lines and wrinkles.
These Loose Mineral Foundations are also concentrated – a little goes a long way, which makes them very affordable. There's quite an array of colours available to suit nearly all skin tones or preferences.
Pure Anada began revamping this line in late 2022: prefacing them with numbers for their darkness and letters for their tone (Warm, Neutral, or Cool), changing most of their names, and adding some colours (not all of which are being actively stocked here, but they can be brought in by special request). For returning customers, the third product photo is a table they provided suggesting which successor shades might suit you if want one similar to their original series - which could be one of three options, depending on your skin tone.
Ingredients:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Silica, Boron Nitride, Iron Oxides, and Ultramarines, in original formulations.
Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Zinc Oxide, Silica, and Iron Oxides (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499), in new numbered formulations.
Note: The deeper, global foundation shades do not contain Titanium Dioxide.
1) Some of these shades are natural and effective sun blocks, since their formulae include Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide. In light foundation applications, the SPF is around 10, in heavier applications, about 20.
2) Coverage is lightweight and complete, which is great for skin with colour problems such as acne rosacea or hyper pigmentation.
3) Many of the ingredients have special properties. For example, zinc oxide is a proven anti-inflammatory, which makes it great for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
4) Mineral Makeup is typically very water-resistant and long-lasting, making it a great choice for active people or those who live in hot, humid environments.
5) You can even sleep in it, because it's non-comedogenic (specially formulated so as not to cause blocked pores) and oil-free.
6) It's free of chemical preservatives (which aren't necessary, since the raw materials are inert minerals and so cannot support bacteria, mold or fungi)
7) It's fast and easy to apply, and very forgiving.
8) Compared to other Mineral Cosmetic brands, these provide full coverage while still feeling lightweight. Added Silica minimizes the possibility of the minerals sitting in creases. Unlike some of the "big name" brands, this doesn't include Bismuth Oxychloride, which is a known irritant.
Suggested Usage:
It is essential to apply with a Flat Top Foundation brush for best results. Dispense a small amount of minerals in the cap. Dip in the brush, and buff into the skin in a circular motion. Pure Anada Hydra Lotion & Hydra Creams make excellent primers, to achieve a smooth, even application.
Less is more. Apply in thin layers. For custom shades, it's easy to mix 2 colours together to achieve your perfect match.
