Would that there were no dry eyes in the house, but environmental (cold or windy outdoor air, or dry indoor air), behavioral (staring intently at our screen devices blinking more infrequently than normal), biological (drops in estrogen levels), and nutritional factors (such as deficiencies in Vitamins A or D) can all prevent the eyes from staying sufficiently moist.

A. Vogel Eye Drops feature two active ingredients:
* Sodium hyaluronate (a.k.a. hyaluronic acid), a polysaccharide (a string of sugar molecules) capable of holding 1,000 times its weight in water, to help maintain a liquid layer over the eyeball to moisturize, protect, and refresh it, while relieving the irritating symptoms of burning and grittiness; and,
* Eyebright, a small type of flower with antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties, to help protect and nourish the eyelid.
These Eye Drops contain no preservatives (which is why they need to be used within 6 months of opening) and are phosphate free, and, unlike many types of eyedrops, they are contact lens friendly, so you use them while you are outside your home, or just continue with whatever you were doing without having to go take your lenses out.
Finally, unlike ordinary eye drops which come in a standard plastic bottle which tends to dispense many drops in rapid succession (which can dribble down your face or ruin your mascara) and whose tips may become contaminated with viruses or bacteria after multiple uses (so you risk infecting yourself), these come in an airtight, self-sterilizing container which only dispenses a single drop at a time (which is all you need). This innovative delivery system is somewhat reminiscent of a 'puffer' style metered dose asthma inhaler (except non-aerosol).

Non-medicinal ingredients: Purified water, boric acid, sodium chloride, borax.
Extra Type: Eyebright extract (Euphrasia officinalis, whole plant) (DER 1:2.222) 0.1 %; equivalent to 0.045 mg fresh plant
Sodium hyaluronate (Hyaluronic acid, sodium salt) 0.2%
Non-medicinal ingredients: Purified water, boric acid, sodium chloride, borax.
Both types are preservative and phosphate-free and also vegan/cruelty-free.
Suggested Usage:
Adults: Use 1 or 2 drops, 3 to 4 times per day.
Do not use for more than 30 consecutive days.
Discard open bottle after 6 months.
Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. For external use only.
Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to using A.Vogel Eye Drops if you experience a thick, white, yellow, or green discharge that forms a crust on the eyelid; or if have a serious underlying medical cause for the infection.
Do not use if the solution changes colour or becomes cloudy; or if you frequently contract infections that don't clear up easily; or if you have a known allergy to any of the product ingredients.
Use of this product by more than one person could spread infection. To avoid contamination, do not touch the tip of the container to any surface.
Stop use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or persist for more than 48 hours, if changes in vision occur or if you experience eye pain.
