Magnesium plays so many different roles in the body, so it's no wonder people take it for a myriad of reasons. But if you're looking to improve your energy levels or endurance or to reduce the pain or tender points associated with fibromyalgia, this may be the right form for you.
Product Notes:
Magnesium is available in quite a number of supplementary forms, which vary not only in their format (powders, liquids, capsules, etc.) and type of application (internal vs. topical), but also in the compounds (such as glycine or citrate) that most vital element gets intertwined with. These compounds can facilitate magnesium absorption by the body or brain – factors which appear to affect not only its overall bioavailability, tolerability, and efficacy, but also the types of symptoms it can best address.
This type has been bound with malic acid, which is perhaps best known of as a beneficial component of apples and apple cider vinegar, to form Magnesium Malate. But malate isn't just there to facilitate the magnesium's absorption. It's also something our bodies use all the time, in two types of multi-stage energy production cycles:
1) the Krebs cycle (or Kreb's; also known as citric acid cycle (CAC) or TCA (tricarboxylic acid) cycle), which produces the ATP (adenosine triphosphate) that powers our cells; and,
2) the malate-aspartate shuttle, which involves taking apart NADH molecules so they can be reassembled in the mitochondria of cells in the heart and liver to produce more energy.
Low levels of ATP have been associated with both fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, and there is some evidence of mitochondrial dysfunction in those with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and these may be underlying factors in the low energy levels, persistent fatigue, brain fog, and muscle pains associated with those conditions, which magnesium malate may be able to help with.
There's also a whole other demographic that might be interested in giving Mag Malate Renew a try: athletes! There are three reasons for this: to take advantage of magnesium's more customary role in helping regulate proper muscle function (contractions); to attempt to increase the production of ATP to fuel more performance, with the intake of more malate; and possibly to help improve endurance.
