While some may associate it with the rubbery synthetic polymer variety spelled with an 'e' at the end, silicon is actually a naturally occurring basic element (Si), which can stimulate the production of collagen – the protein our bodies used to maintain the elasticity of our skin and the strength of our bones, hair and nails.

Although it's an element and is quite abundant, silicon is rarely found in its pure form. But when it bonds with oxygen, it can form silicon dioxide – also known as silica or quartz – the most common component of sand. That's the source here, but it's not just any old sand: the silicon provided in CanPrev's Silicon Beauty is derived from Nova Scotian quartz, which yields MMST (Monomethylsilanetriol), the world's most soluble and absorbable source of silicon.

MMST Silicon

MMST is a small, stable, monomeric molecule (with a low molecular weight, and capable of forming of bonds with identical molecules to form a polymer), which is 100% soluble in water. This enables it to get absorbed better much better by our bodies to get taken up by our cells in our skin and connective tissue when we ingest it in a solution compared to most other supplemental source of silicon. In fact, it's been shown to be over three times more absorbable than the closest leading form (and over twenty times more than horsetail and bamboo forms, and over sixty times more than colloidal ionic silica).
