Product Notes:

Hand-Hammered Ayurvedic Tamba Bottles

Copper bottles and storage vessels (tamra jal) have been a part of the Ayurvedic health tradition for hundreds of years. When water is stored in them for at least 8 hours, copper's powerful natural antimicrobial properties can not only kill microbes. Copper bottles can also boost your water's alkalinity.

Sustainable and reusable, these attractive bottles are each made from a single sheet of high-quality copper, with no other materials except for the washer on the outside of the neck to provide a water-proof seal. Uncoated - no plastic lining or steel core defeating the purpose, and no glass lining at risk of breaking.

Hammered copper bottles are often preferred over plain formed smooth containers as they provide more contact surface area, are generally stronger and more durable, and they look great!

Be aware that cheap copper water bottles advertised online are frequently lightweight stainless steel bottles electroplated with copper, and are not made of pure copper.

These 'tamba' bottles (copper in Hindi) are a product of India, now available in Canada.

Size / Dimensions

1L bottle. 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) high and 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter.

Suggested Usage & Care:

To keep the interior clean, simply rinse it with water each day you use it. Of course, copper may become tarnished over time due to normal oxidation. To counteract that, either use make a mild solution of vinegar and water, or, for a more thorough clean, use water, lemon juice and salt every two weeks. (Just make a solution in the bottle, cap it, and shake, then immediately dump it out and rinse with plain water.)

Caution: Use only clean drinking water. Copper bottles should not be used for dairy, heated drinks, or any acidic beverages such as orange, lemon, or lime juice.
