Plant sterols are natural compounds that are the plant counterparts to cholesterol in some respects, with positive roles in forming and maintaining their membranes and regulating the plant's growth and development. Because they have a similar chemical structure or 'shape' as animal cholesterol, when we consume them, they compete for absorption in the digestive system, and end up preventing some of the artery-clogging cholesterol in your meal from getting absorbed (it ends up just getting excreted, instead), without contributing to forming plaque in the arteries, themselves. Suggested Usage:
