Genestra's 'HMF' line of friendly intestinal bacteria are Human Micro Flora, meaning the strains were derived from people (rather than cows, e.g.); they tend to survive the passage through the stomach acids more than other types of probiotics, and also stick to our intestinal walls better and work faster to restore a healthy balance of intestinal flora. Friendly bacteria improve digestion and the absorption of nutrients, and taking a supplement to replenish them may be especially needed after taking antibiotics or after completing some other drug or cleansing programs, for example.
Unlike many of the other HMF varieties, these two types do not contain fructo-oligosaccharide. They are equal in strength per recommended serving, but some may prefer to take it in one format (stirred in with a liquid, or swallowed whole as a capsule) over the other.
Guaranteed to contain no added wheat, starch, corn, sodium, sugar, artificial colouring or flavouring or antimicrobial preservatives. Ideal for vegetarians.
Each capsule (NPN 80020663) or 1 g scoop (NPN 80047742) contains:
Probiotic Consortium: 25 billion CFU, consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-60), Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-21), Bifidobacterium bifidum (CUL-20), and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (CUL-34).
The powder also contains Maltodextrin, while the capsules contain Cellulose and Hypromellose.
