These natural toothpastes contain no fluoride, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), triclosan, artificial flavours, dyes, or chemical preservatives. In addition to the half dozen flavours on offer for the regular varieties, there are now two alternate versions available for Sensitive teeth or for Enamel Protect(ion), as well.
Green Beaver's natural toothpastes are made with plants and minerals. Unlike toothpaste with fluoride, children under the age of 6 years of age (including toddlers) can safely swallow all these natural toothpastes, except for the type for Sensitive teeth (which should only be used by those age 12 and up).
Green Beaver's toothpastes are made with real flavours without any chemically engineered synthetic flavours (or dyes), making them better for you and our environment! The toothpastes contain natural antibacterial agents such as xylitol, lemon and tea tree extracts. They also contain natural mineral whiteners such as Silica and calcium carbonate, natural breath fresheners like aromatic and refreshing herbs. There is also added calcium ascorbate, which contributes to the normal development and maintenance of teeth and gums.
Xylitol occurs naturally in certain fruits and vegetables, including berries, apples, and plums, as well as in Green Beaver's preferred source - birch trees. According to Health Canada, "studies have indicated that xylitol in particular may actually help to prevent tooth decay." Xylitol can not only help neutralize the bacteria that cause cavities (especially the Streptococcus mutans that causes plaque), but also bind with calcium ions to remineralize our teeth's outer layer, the enamel.
For those whose teeth may be showing signs of enamel erosion with the absence of fluoride in your water supply and/or oral hygiene products, the new Enamel Protect type has a very high concentration (1/5th of the volume) of xylitol, along with calcium hydroxyapatite (which can be found in cow bones) – the substance teeth enamel is actually made of. Together, these natural ingredients have been clinically proven to harden enamel by 80% after only six days of regular brushing.
Naturally, Green Beaver Toothpastes do not contain any artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, sweeteners, fluoride or animal products.

Enamel Protect (Fresh Mint) type (NPN 80058063): Medicinal ingredients: Xylitol 20%, Calcium Hydroxyapatite 4.25%. Other ingredients: Aqua, Calcium Carbonate, Sorbitol,Mentha piperita (peppermint) essential oil, Menthol, Hydrated silica, Tea Tree essential oil, Glycerin, Coco-glucoside, Xanthan gum, Citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract.
Suggested Usage:
Sensitive type: helps reduce painful sensitivity of teeth to cold, heat, acids or contact, by shielding dental nerves for lasting sensitivity relief when used regularly. Keep out of reach of children.
Adults and children 12 years of age and older: brush teeth thoroughly for at least one minute, preferably after each meal, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Do not swallow. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a dentist.
