Women's Moon (Organic): Vitex, Cinnamon, Cramp Bark, Ginger, Nettles, Cleavers, Ladies Mantle, Red Rose Petals. As the name implies, this colourful and fragrant tea is intended to help harmonize the hormonal fluctuations associated with a monthly cycle.
For Hot Infusions: Pour hot water over the herbs and allow them to steep for between 5 and 15 minutes (some types specify 5-10 on the package, some 5-15). Strain and serve. Easily prepared in a French press.
The strength of the brew is determined by the amount of herb used: typically anywhere from just 2 to 3 or 3 or 4 grams (about 1 and 1/4 teaspoons) per cup for most types, all the way up to 10 to 20 grams per 500 ml of water for one or two types, depending on the type (each package has directions on the back).
For a cold infusion, leave it to steep overnight.
For a Decoction, for the Throat Harmony or Tonic Immuni-tea types, lightly simmer the herbs in water in a pot on the stove, just below boiling point for 20-30 minutes (for the Immuni-Tea) or up to an hour (for the Throat Harmony). Strain and serve. Typically 3 to 4 g of tea per 500 ml of water is used for the Immunitea, or 10 to 25g, for the Throat Harmony.
