Product Notes:
Fast, effective, and natural, Kolorex is your most important ally in the fight against candida.
From deep in New Zealand's pristine forest comes the ancient Horopito plant. So powerful, it's remained perfectly adapted to the forest environment for over 65 million years.
Sourced from the world's only cultivated Horopito plantation, Kolorex brings the power of the Horpito plant to you. With nearly three decades of science behind it, Kolorex continues to deliver proven formulations.
Its active constituent, polygodial, has demonstrated significant anti-fungal actions against Candida and yeast. Horopito contains the highest concentration of polygodial.
A groundswell of research over the years has proven that Kolorex Active Horopito extract is just as potent as mainstream pharmaceuticals at killing Candida. What’s more, it's entirely natural, bringing you the purity and power of 65 million years of forest evolution. Kolorex is possibly the world’s most potent natural support for long term reduction in Candida-related health problems.
Technically, How Does Kolorex Work?
Polygodial acts as a non-ionic surfactant - it disrupts the lipid-protein interface of fungal cell membranes by binding to Phosphatidylethanolamine, which is the most abundant class of glycerolipids in Candida biofilms. This leads to the formation of pyrrole derivatives, which ultimately results in altered plasma membrane fluidity, causing loss of intercellular materials and fungal lysis.

Professor J. R. L. Walker and his team at the University of Canterbury first reported their findings in 1982. They found that the natural antifungal in the extract from Horopito leaves was more effective at killing Candida albicans than Amphotericin B, a commonly used pharmaceutical.

Numerous studies since have confirmed the presence of that main active ingredient, polygoidal, and the anti-fungal and anti-bacterial efficacy of this plant. Some of these are summarized and/or cited in the following:
