What if you could build a better mousetrap just by putting it in a sauna for a few months to strengthen its spring to give it more snap? Just as drying ripe grapes in the warm sun for a few weeks can produce darker, chewier, and much sweeter raisins, slowly aging whole garlic bulbs under controlled conditions with a gradual increase in heat and humidity not only produces a better texture, odour and taste profile, but also increases its bioavailability and nutritional value and the potency of some of its key ingredients as it ferments. But Black Garlic Alive doesn't end there: it's also bolstered with two other cardioprotective herbs to really shore up its cardiovascular benefits.

High doses of garlic have been shown to significantly slow the development of atherosclerosis (measured by ultrasound), lower high blood pressure, reduce LDL cholesterol, reduce platelet stickiness, and reduce instances of a second heart attack (thereby contributing to a much lower death rate). However, to truly benefit from those components in regular garlic, one either has to eat prodigious quantities of it (which can take a toll on one's palate, digestive system, and body or breath odour) or prepare it a certain way and eat it right away before those active ingredients lose their efficacy.

But Black Garlic – which is to say, slowly aged and fermented – enables one to derive those benefits with a much smaller amount, and with a much softer odour and a sweeter, more caramel, and pleasant savory "umami" taste, and far less aftertaste than conventional garlic, and absolutely no preparation on your part when delivered in a supplement like this.

Consequently, Living Alchemy has developed an exceptional fermentation process to safely age organic garlic bulbs naturally over a very extended period (not just 4 to 6 weeks as some do, but a whole 90 days), in order to increase its nutrients, potency and absorbability, while also softening its odour and aftertaste.

When it completes this extended 'spa session,' their Black Garlic is rich in activated and more absorbable antioxidants, and with twice as much of the key cardioprotective ingredient S-Allyl-Cysteine (SAC), now rendered in a stabilized form (so you certainly don't need to eat all of it within an hour to benefit!).

Nor do the heart health benefits of this supplement end there: it also contains significant amounts of Hawthorn, which is known for its ability to enhance cardiac function and protect blood vessels, especially in individuals with congestive heart failure; and Cayenne, which has also been traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help support peripheral circulation. Cayenne's spicy active ingredient (capsaicin or Capsaicinoids) has anti-inflammatory properties which may be able to reduce plaque build-up in blood vessels which underlie atherosclerosis and heart attacks.
