The see-through non-woven pyramid teabags and their strings are manufactured PLA, a compostable and biodegradable plant-based material derived from strands of corn or sugarcane. Suggested Usage:
Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teabag for each 200 to 260 ml (7 to 9 oz) of fluid volume you'll be preparing in an empty teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for either 3 to 5 or 3 to 7* minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). *(Depending on the type; each type has icons on the back labels indicating the steeping times and whether milk or sweeteners or lemon or mint garnishes are recommended, like this set from the Decaf English Breakfast type):
