A polyol is an organic compound containing multiple hydroxyl groups (which are covalent bonds of hydrogen and oxygen atoms). Inositol is a B-vitamin-like polyol that may be able to help both with more somatic conditions such as blood sugar balancing and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and with more psychological ones like depression, panic disorder, or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
