Product Notes:

Sea buckthorn seed oil is a rare source of up to 34% linoleic (omega-6) and 32% alphalinolenic (omega-6) fatty acids in an almost perfect 1:1 ratio. It also contains 12 additional fatty acids including omega-7 and -9 as well as docosahexaenoic (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA). In addition to being an excellent source of those polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) which help keep the skin hydrated by reducing trans-epidermal water loss, this vegan seed oil is rich in Vitamin E and K, and also contains naturally-occurring beta carotene, trace minerals, and other essential nutrients.

With its age-defying antioxidant properties (which include protecting against sun/UV damage) and the astonishing array of nutrients in its fruit, seed, leaves and even bark, Seabuckthorn was first mentioned in the 8th Century in the Tibetan medical classic rGyud -Bzi (The Four Books of Pharmacopoeia) attributed to Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). References to its medicinal uses were also found in the texts of Ancient Greek scholars Theophrastus and Dioskorid.
