Info: 100 Capsules
Biotin is a water-soluble member of the B-vitamin family, although it is sometimes called Vitamin H. It helps us metabolize proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and many pregnant women take it to help keep their hair, skin, and nails healthy (since some nutrients are being diverted to help grow the baby). Others with low biotin levels may include long-term users of certain anti-seizure medications or oral antibiotics, people who frequently eat raw egg whites, and people with intestinal malabsorption.
This is an intermediate strength (1,000 mcg) version in a small capsule containing the lowest amount of hypoallergenic rice flour possible. There is also an Extra Strength version (5,000 mcg) of Biotin available in a vegetarian capsule from the Protocol for Life brand.
