Cranberry is widely used to prevent urinary tract infection (UTI), starting about 50 years ago. It likely works by preventing bacteria from adhering to the bladder's cell wall, via its active ingredient proanthocyanidin. This Clinical Strength Cranberry Extract is standardized to contain 10 mg of proanthocyanidins, and 20 mg of Quinic acid (one of the cranberry's three main acidic ingredients). Uva Ursi has also been added, because it acts as a diuretic to promote urine flow (which can help flush the urinary tract), and Grape Seed Extract, because it enhances proanthocyanidin's ability to help prevent UTIs.
Each capsule contains:
333.33 mg of Cranberry extract (Vaccinium macrocarpon) (Fruit); standardized to contain 1.5% proanthocyanidins) (10 mg of Proanthocyanidins and 20 mg of Quinic Acid)
100 mg of Uva-Ursi (Arctostaphylos uva- ursi) (Leaf); (standardized to contain 15% / 20 mg Arbutin)
15 mg Grape Seed (Vitis vinifera) (Seed) (standardized to contain: 13.5 mg Total Polyphenols).
