Info: 100 Capsules

Many of us get enough vitamin B3 in our diets. However, in some instances, lifestyle choices and habits can keep us from getting sufficient amounts; for instance, the lack of meats and animal foods in vegan diets can make vegans susceptible to suffering from vitamin B3 deficiency, and dependence on alcohol can put alcoholics at risk by inhibiting B3 absorption. In cases such as this - and others in which B3 levels are a problem - B3 supplementation is necessary, and one of the best sources of such supplementation is niacinamide. While niacin works as well, it can often cause unwanted flushing, but niacinamide does not, so it is a perfect choice for those looking for vitamin B3 supplementation but wanting to avoid this side effect.

Product Notes:

Niacinamide for Non Melanoma Skin Cancer

Promising new research presented at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Oncology suggests that niacinamide supplementation may be able to help slow the onset of cancer for those suffering from or at high risk of non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs). Research is still preliminary, but the double-blind study, undertaken among a group of 386 participants at two tertiary treatment centres in Sydney, Australia, found that "nicotinamide [vitamin B3] reduces non-melanoma skin cancer formation in high risk patients and is well tolerated." These results suggest that nicotinamide, often sold in North America under the name "Niacinamide," may be an inexpensive and readily accessible means of fighting cancer; as the study's conclusion notes, this discovery "presents a new chemopreventive opportunity against NMSCs that is readily translatable into clinical practice." Nicotinamide can be taken supplementally through its biochemical precursor, niacin, but most prefer the more straightforward means of directly taking niacinamide (simply another name for nicotinamide), which does not induce the unpleasant side effects of niacin that can include flushing and headaches.
