Info: 60 Lozenges

OralBiotic is temporarily unavailable from the manufacturer. Please see CulturedCare Probiotic Gum which contains the same BLIS K12 ingredient.

These probiotic lozenges from NOW contain Streptococcus salivarius BLIS K12, a proprietary strain of a naturally occurring microorganism which has been clinically shown to support both oral and throat health, which was first identified, isolated, and studied in New Zealand.

Product Notes:

NOW OralBiotic works by colonizing the oral cavity with BLIS K12 (aided by the inclusion of the prebiotic FOS to provide nutritional support for it). This beneficial bacteria crowds out other bacteria which may have been proliferating and causing a range of issues, including painful gums, a white build up on the tongue, ear aches/infections (otitis media), cavities (dental caries), strep throat (streptococcal pharyngeal infections), or tonsillitis.

NOW Oral Biotic lozenges can also help reduce halitosis (bad breath), when used in conjunction with proper oral hygiene. The lozenges have a natural strawberry and vanilla flavour.

This product has been reformulated by NOW Foods to contain half as much in each lozenge to make them easier to take, and to give more flexibility in the dosage, so children as young as 3 years old can take them (compared to no younger than 9 years, for certain other brands 1 Billion CFU doses).

Suggested Usage:

Adults: Take 4 lozenges daily. Children 3 years and older: Take 1 to 2 lozenges daily.

To be effective, it is important that you allow each lozenge to dissolve slowly and completely in the mouth, rather than chewing it or swallowing it whole.

If you are taking antibiotics, do not take these lozenges at the same time as those: take them at least 2 to 3 hours either before or after taking the antibiotics.

Duration: To reduce halitosis, use for a minimum of 14 days, following use of an antimicrobial mouthwash.

Keep bottle refrigerated after opening to maintain live bacteria counts.

Warnings:

Allergen alert: Contains milk derivative.

Do not use NOW OralBiotic™ Probiotic Lozenges if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment), or if you are taking aminoglycosidic antibiotics (e.g. kanamycin, streptomycin).

This product has come into contact with milk/dairy; do not use if you have a milk/dairy allergy.

Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you have nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea or severe abdominal pain. If symptoms of digestive upset (e.g. diarrhea) occur, worsen, or persist beyond three days, discontinue use and consult a healthcare practitioner.

Xylitol is harmful to pets; seek veterinary care immediately if you suspect they have ingested these lozenges (which are sweetened with that).
