Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic Herbal blend of three fruits, Amla or Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica), and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula). It's one of the most widely used tonics in Ayurveda for whole body balancing and cleansing. Traditionally, it's been used to stimulate digestion, improve circulation and aid elimination. Unlike other herbal laxatives, it's considered to be a gentle detoxifier, which nourishes and cleanses as it removes toxins from the body. It's said to balance the three constitutional elements of human life: the nervous system, metabolic processes, and the body's structural integrity. It's often prescribed by medical doctors now, as well, and is most commonly used as a weight loss herb, and can work effectively as a bowel cleanser.

Certified Organic Triphala Powder (Emblica officinalis, Terminalia belerica, Terminalia chebula)

Suggested Usage:

Take 1 teaspoon as a tonic once or twice daily. Add powder to water, coconut water, or your favorite juice. Or add a teaspoon to your favorite smoothie recipe to create a nourishing, antioxidant rich smoothie.*

In traditional Ayurveda, it is suggested to take 1 teaspoon twice daily in warm water or warm milk as a supportive tonic.

Make a tea-like infusion by adding 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder to 6 to 8 oz. of hot water. Let the water sit for 10 minutes to allow the compounds to be released. Add some honey or a teaspoon of Organic Traditions' Yacon Syrup or Coconut Palm Sugar to add a touch of sweetness.

Smoothie idea: Blend 1 or 2 teaspoons of Triphala with 1 or 2 tablespoons of Organic Traditions' Sprouted Chia Powder, Shredded Coconut, and Goji Berries, or other of their superfoods, with 3 to 6 cups of water.
